Linkin Park: Live in London

Rather than this accidentally coming off as a #humblebrag, I figure I should just tell you straight: I turned on iTunes tonight, and saw a link to our show at the Roundhouse in London. Sometimes, when we do a show, I feel like it goes smoothly; other times, not so much. The iTunes show was the former, and I’m glad it’s up online for free, for those of you who are interested.

CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE SHOW FOR FREE
…and BTW, if you haven’t heard about it yet, if you support Music For Relief HERE, you can get two tickets to a Linkin Park / B’z show at a secret location, to benefit children affected by Japan’s earthquake and tsunami.

LPU Years in Review

Each year since LPU 1.0, we've released an LPU CD. In addition, each year of the LPU has been different from the one before in terms of merchandise packages, exclusives, and more. We want to hear from LPU members about some of your favorite memories from each year of the LPU. All you need to do is write blogs for each of the years you've been in LPU, or even just your one favorite year. Tell us about what that year's CD meant to you, some of the things you were able to do because of the LPU, and a memorable moment from that year. Make sure you only talk about 1 specific year in each blog post.

Tag your blog post with LPUYEARSINREVIEW, and we'll read through them and feature our favorites on LinkinPark.com and LPUnderground.com.

You can download any of the previously released LPU CD's now at LPUnderground.com.

Linkin Park Moscow Concert Visuals

Ghost Town Media, known for working on the special effects of Meeting of A Thousand Suns and recent Linkin Park music videos, have released the concert visuals that they worked on for the Transformers: Dark Of The Moon premier concert in Moscow, Russia. The visuals include the Moscow concert intro, New Divide, What I've Done, and their recent single, Iridescent.

Ghost Town was tasked with creating visual assets to accompany Linkin Park at their performance for the premiere of “Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon” in Moscow, Russia. Unfortunately for fans of the band, those assets were created for that concert only, and tragically will never be seen again. However, fortunately for fans of the band, here they are! Enjoy!

Interview with Chester in Kerrang

Yahoo has excerpts of an interview with Chester in this week’s issue of Kerrang magazine. MSC has the scans here. Also, the LPUX merch packages have started shipping, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email, and your receipt will also be updated to say SHIPPED.

Chester Bennington cringes when recalling the earlier days of Linkin Park as he was “such a nightmare”.
The 35-year-old rocker is frontman of the nu-metal group, and has spoken in the past about his battles with alcohol when the band were at the height of their fame.
Chester, who says by 2006 he was “a full-blown, raging alcoholic”, regrets being argumentative back in those days.
“People didn’t want to talk to me about things that might cause a confrontation because I would be irate. I had no idea I was such a nightmare,” he confessed in an interview with Kerrang! magazine.
Chester feels he is in a much better place nowadays, and is happy to say he no longer consumes alcohol. He feels confident he will never return to his alcoholic ways.
“I don’t drink, and that’s the most important thing right there,” he enthused.
“I choose to be sober now, I choose not to drink. I have drunk over the last six years since I started my journey and thankfully it’s not turned into anything bad.
“But what it comes down to is that I just don’t want to be that person anymore. I don’t have all the emotional stuff and all the turmoil going on all the time anymore. I’ve gotten comfortable with being out of all that stuff.”
The rocker also took the time to consider the next Linkin Park album, which is in the process of being made. He argues that it should be very different to their 2010 offering A Thousand Suns.
“We want it to be different than A Thousand Suns. I don’t want to explain how because I don’t want to put an idea into people’s heads. The music is great and well ahead of where we were expecting to be,” he enthused.
“It will probably get a very polarised reaction, which pleases me. As an artist, I want a reaction.”
