The 2011 Do Something Awards nominations have been revealed today and Linkin Park are amongst the nominees in their respective category. The awards celebrate those who inspire social change and work to make a difference in society.
Linkin Park are known for their exceptional work with Music For Relief, often playing shows to benefit areas effected by natural disasters, releasing t-shirts and pioneering Download To Donate where they would receive donations in return for an extensive growing catalogue of music from various artists.
Linkin Park are nominated in the DO SOMETHING Music Artist category and are up against Adam Lambert, Nick Jonas, The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. You can vote by signing up to the VH1 website and selecting Linkin Park on the DO SOMETHING Music Artist page.
The awards ceremony will air on VH1, Thursday August 18th, 9/8c.

Linkin Park have been nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards Japan for Best Rock Group and Best Rock Video for The Catalyst. The event has been renamed MTV Video Music Aid Japan to benefit the Japanese Red Cross. It will be held at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan, the show will be broadcast live on MTV Japan and the rest of Asia on June 25 at 6 pm. A special one-hour version of MTV VMAJ will air on MTV channels worldwide as an installment of MTV’s weekly live music series, MTV World Stage. 2010 MTV2 EMA Site Linkin Park won the title of "Best Live Act" at MTV EMA 2010, which was held in Madrid today (7 November Time Madrid). Congratulations to Linkin Park ...!!! We’ve just announced that in celebration of the EMAs, we’ll be holding a series of free, live music events in Madrid’s historic Puerta de Alcalá (Alcalá Gate) in the Plaza de la Independencia (Independence Square)!
First up, on Saturday, 6 November, Puerta de Alcalá will be host to MTV Days – a live, open-air concert dedicated to contemporary Spanish artists and bands.
Then, on Sunday, 7 November - a.k.a. show day - global superstar Katy Perry and rock sensations Linkin Park will both perform between 18.00 and 21.45 CET. One track from each of their sets will be beamed directly into the Caja Magica during the MTV EMA live show.
Tens of thousands of music fans are expected to flood the Plaza de la Independencia and the Calle de Alcalá, which will be closed to traffic to allow fans to enjoy performances by their favourite artists against the spectacular backdrop of the Alcalá Gate.
And if you can’t make it to Madrid, don’t worry. You can watch the MTV EMAs live on MTV on 7th November starting at 9 PM and you can watch some of the very best performances over and over again after the show on mtvema.com.

Shakira, Dizzee Rascal, Kings Of Leon, Miley Cyrus, B.o.B and Haley Williams will also perform at the ceremony.
Lady Gaga and Katy Perry both have four nominations, including nods for Best Pop, Best Female and Best Song. Bon Jovi will collect the inaugural Global Icon honour.
