Linkin Park concert in Brazil

Despite the fact that we had to face extreme cold and heat, all the tiredness, the
dust and the hours waiting (and getting dirty) in a farm (it was a farm, because
– well, it was supposed to be the Brazilian Woodstock), it was worth it. Only
those who were there are able to explain and understand what the whole concert
experience was like. For those who were not able to attend the event, we’ll try to
summarize it up:

10/11/10. After exact six years and a month, the Brazilians were able to see the most
waited concert in recent times: Linkin Park. The band came to play at the third and last
day of the SWU Festival, which featured bands like Incubus, The Mars Volta, Queens
Of The Stone Age, Rage Against The Machine, Kings of Leon – besides Linkin Park, of
course. But to close the last night with class, there needed to be Mike, Chester, Phoenix,
Rob, Brad and Joe…

Many of us arrived at the festival venue at 8:00am, and Linkin Park’s performance was
scheduled to midnight. But the wait was worth it the moment we heard the first note
of “The Requiem”, which was followed by “Wretches and Kings”. In a few seconds
more than 60 thousand people started to sing, jump and basically got thrilled with the
new songs from the album “A Thousand Suns” and hits like “In The End”, “Faint”
and “Crawling”. Chester and Mike sang in a stage decorated with brazilian flags, one of
which mixture Linkin Park-ish artwork with the National Flag and was given to them by
members of LinkinPark:br. During “One Step Closer”, Chester ran throughout the stage
from one side to another as he waved the green and yellow flag. As two hours of pure
concert energy went by, the band closed its set with class, and with “Bleed It Out”, they
made the whole country shake!

For us -- from LinkinPark:br -- it was a special day. First of all, because Mike posted
the “Welcome Back to Brazil” video on his blog and the official website; after part
of the website team attended the Meet & Greet, where the experience is even harder
do explain: meeting personally your favorite band seems like a dream which you just
don’t ever wake up from… After the M&G, Mike – who, as a way to thank us for the
welcome back video, recorded a very special video: “Welcome to linkinparkbr.com”.
We’ll keep that moment in our hearts forever!

We dedicate this post especially to the Brazilian fans and the biggest band of the world!
We’d also like to take the opportunity to ask the band one thing: Please, do not make us
wait too much, hurry back!

Special thanks for LPBR Team, LPU and the best band in the world...LINKIN PARK!
